The Evolution of Webix from 10.0 to 10.1
We have some exciting news to share with you: the long-awaited release of Webix 10.1 is here! This version is packed with powerful enhancements and impressive updates to our complex widgets. Let’s take a look how Webix changed throughout this time.
Webix 10.0
The anniversary update of our library includes:
- Two brand new complex Widgets — Desktop and ToDo.
- Two brand-new skins are available for the components of Webix core and complex widgets.
- New “baseline” property for Gantt to set start date, end date and duration for the project.
- The biggest enhancement to Pivot is the addition of external data processing support.
- New “Hide/show print borders” button for SpreadSheet to visualize the print borders of a page.
- Another crucial feature for SpreadSheet is the ability to hide sheets via UI.
Webix 10.1
Let’s take a look at all the features that Webix 10.1 has to offer.
Chart
- Introducing new feature — group calls.
- Redesigned messaging interface:
— all messages from the current user now appear on the right side of the window.
— multiple messages from the same user are grouped together if they do not alternate with replies from other users.
— ‘edited’ label to indicate that the message has been changed.
Scheduler
- Introducing year view mode. It allows you to see how your daily and weekly tasks fit into the bigger picture, so you can plan for long-term goals and objectives.
- Configuration setting called dimPastEvents. When it is enabled, all events that have already ended are displayed with dimmed colors.
ToDo
- Ability to define task priority. Use one of three built-in priority levels: ”Low”, “Medium”, or “High” to highlight tasks.
- New sorting criteria for tasks: due date, priority, and task text.
- Drag-and-drop support (note that it is switched off by default).
Pivot
- Customization of charts’ display in ‘Chart’ mode — hiding unwanted elements, specifying the position of the legend on the chart
- Support of Scattered charts. They are used to visualize the correlation between two variables.
SpreadSheet
- Added the “zoom” feature. It can come in handy when you are working on a sheet containing a lot of data, and you need to focus on a particular part.
- Autofill cells by drag-handle. It allows efficient replication of data and calculations across multiple cells by eliminating manual typing.
- Add scatter chart as one of the supported charts.
- Extra printing sizes. Whether you use international or North American systems, you can now add your preferred paper sizes to webix.env.printSizes. The default paper size is A4, and the other two predefined options are A3 and Letter.
